Joined the Cape Service, an American flagged ship in Great Yarmouth because the Captain was due for relief and there was no one to replace him. Living on the Cape Service was like living in a tea chest as all the accommodation was lined with plywood. I was onboard in early 1984 for a week or ten days but did not enter it into my discharge book as it was an American ship.
Eventually a new Captain arrived and I went on leave before returning to my regular ship.
